How Much Does Rubbish Removal Cost in 2026?

Rubbish removal is almost always priced by the volume of waste you need taken away — the amount of space it fills in the van — rather than by the hour. Once you understand that, comparing quotes and budgeting becomes far simpler. Here is what you can realistically expect to pay in 2026.

We price by load size, and every price below is fully inclusive of labour, loading, disposal and VAT:

• Mini Load (1 cubic yard): £84 — about 2 washing machines' worth
• Small Load (2 cubic yards): £129 — roughly a mini skip
• Medium Load (4 cubic yards): £219 — our most popular size, about a medium skip
• Large Load (6 cubic yards): £309 — roughly a builder's skip
• X-Large Load (10 cubic yards): £489
• XX-Large Load (14 cubic yards): £669

Need something in between? Custom loads are priced at a simple £39 base plus £45 per cubic yard, so you only pay for the space you actually use.

What changes the price

Volume. The biggest factor by far — the more there is, the larger the load.

Weight. Each cubic yard includes up to 100kg of waste. Very dense material such as soil, rubble or tiles can go over that allowance, so heavy loads may be quoted separately.

Special items. A few items cost extra to process correctly: mattresses (£35 each), fridges or freezers (£45), sofas (£40), tyres (£15) and TVs or monitors (£10).

Access. Long carries, stairs with no lift, or restricted parking add labour time.
