From a few bags of clippings to a full garden clearance, here is what garden waste removal costs and how to get the best value.
Garden waste has a habit of building up — a day of pruning, a cleared border, or an overgrown plot can produce far more than the council green bin will hold. Here is what it costs to have it taken away properly.
What garden waste removal costs
We price garden clearances by volume, all inclusive of labour and disposal:
- Mini Load (1 cubic yard): £84 — a boot-load of bags and clippings
- Small Load (2 cubic yards): £129 — a decent border clearance
- Medium Load (4 cubic yards): £219 — a good-sized garden tidy
- Large Load (6 cubic yards): £309 — a full overgrown-garden clearance
For anything in between, a custom load is £39 plus £45 per cubic yard.
What we take
Grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, branches, leaves, weeds, roots, turf and soil, old plants, and general green waste. We can also take away the non-green bits a garden throws up — broken fence panels, old pots, bags of stones, decking offcuts and the like — in the same load.
A note on soil and turf
Soil and turf are heavy. Each cubic yard of load includes up to 100kg, and a small pile of soil can weigh a surprising amount, so a heavily soil-based job may be quoted on weight. If in doubt, send us a photo for an accurate figure.
Green bin vs removal service
A council garden-waste bin is fine for steady, week-to-week trimmings, but it is slow and small for a one-off clearance — and many councils now charge an annual fee for it. For clearing an overgrown garden, tackling a big prune, or a one-time tidy, a man-and-van service clears the lot in a single visit and composts or recycles the green waste.
